Our
Grand Opening Celebration on June 14th Was a Great Success
A Grand Opening Celebration —
Many thanks to all of you who joined us at our new location this past Saturday. Over 125 paddling friends joined the celebration and toured the new store and facility. Special thanks to those who provided live music — the Paddling Pipers and the Hungry Monks. All told it was a great deal of fun and very rewarding to see how much interest there is in our tours, classes and, of course, the store. If you missed us, stop by any time. We're here 10a.m.-6 p.m. every day and always glad to meet new paddlers.

Deveaux Bank Beauty
We had a spectacular trip out to Deveaux Bank Saturday, 5/18!
Note that because of bird nesting, Deveaux Bank is closed year round above the high tide line except designated areas.
Learn more at the SC DNR website.
Species nesting on the bank include eastern brown pelican, least tern, royal tern, black skimmer, gull-billed tern, sandwich tern, common tern, laughing gull, Wilson's plover, American oystercatcher, snowy egret, tricolored heron, and willet. Besides providing nesting habitat, the preserve provides winter loafing and feeding areas for numerous species, including the federally-threatened piping plover.
